I Shoot Nikon

The first question most photographers ask each other is . .. what’s your gear . . .. .and yes, there is certainly such a thing as lens envy, and lens junkie, and gadget junkie . . . . we all fall prey to trying out the new toys . . . some that are fantastic and some that were a waste of money!!!

The following is a list of my gear . . . . please don’t add up the dollars . . my husband’s pacemaker would stop ticking!!!

I went full frame in May of 2010, just in time to go to the Cape Cod Workshop with Bryan Peterson.  I then decided as of September 2012 that a D4 belonged in my camera bag.  This camera was made for sport photographers and photojournalists.  And I shoot both . .. having shot some weddings . .. they definitely fall in the category of sport photography . .. . the more frames per second the better to catch the various facial expressions . . and I have always done some form of phootjournalism as I religiously document all our travels.

The other addition that was made with a view to our South American Adventure was the D7100 with a telephoto lens.  I knew that weight was going to be an issue and I also knew that personal safety could come into play, so not always wanting to put my D4 at risk, I purchased the second body which is a crop frame.  I tend to do a lot of detail shots so this turned out to be a brilliant choice and used it a whole lot during our journey and still keep it in my bag and loaded with the zoom.  Brilliant focus and so happy with the end result.
