Chile was the second country we visited during our South American Adventure. What a gorgeous country . . . . very cosmopolitan with a distinct European influence. Their thriving wine industry puts them on the world map and they go to huge lengths to protect it. I have never seen so many dogs sniffing bags, suitcases and people at an airport . . . ever. Don’t even think about bringing a leaf or a plant in. The Andes, Coastal Mountains to the south and the sea to the west has protected their vineyards from disease that has infected other wine producing countries in the world. The climate is mild and the scenery spectacular.
