Christmas is a really big deal in our home. I like to start dressing our home with what I call Winter decorations once we have had a good fall of snow and after November 11th, 2015. That is just a personal thing for me.
Once the first of December is approaching, I am full on into getting the inside dressed and ready for the festive season.
With the hum of Christmas baking the kitchen gets all dolled up as well. This year, we had guests from Brazil, so the Christmas baking took on a frenetic pace. Needless to say I have a special love for many of the Christmas treasures that have been collected over the course of the many years we have been married. My favourite accent colours for the kitchen are lime green and a bold cherry red . . . what fits better into the Christmas theme.
The living room area tends to be a bit more formal and the theme has been gold with accents of burgundy magnolias. When you swath the tree in gold garland, you really don’t need much else . . other than the lights twinkling and soft music in the background. That is the peace of Christmas for me.
